I disagree. I find that rear leg and specifically foot room is better 
in the A3 Jetta. Of course, both are dismal if you have 3 adults 
riding in the car. Four adults are barely tolerable, and 5 adults is 
simply claustrophobic for the 3 sitting in the rear.

Also, the trunk room in the A3 is more spacious in my opinion. Even 
if the cubic space may be less (although I don't think it is) the A3 
space is more usable, IMO.

Clearly, the Jetta/Golf/GTI is a compact car; I've realized that I'm 
either a midsize (Passat/A6) driver or a subcompact (Audi 
TT/Boxster/Carrera) driver. Anything in the middle is a waste, unless 
you have kids with short stubby legs. :)
