RE: Reasons Not to Commute in DC Traffic

I feel for you man. The first commute I had after getting my 2000 Silver
GLX, a lady in a mercedes left a good 70feet of rubber behind as she slid up
to my car..thankfully I had a lot of space in front of me..or I would have
been in the same boat as you. They're all out to get us, I think.

Subject: Reasons Not to Commute in DC Traffic

Well three weeks into blissful ownership of my '97 GLX
and the inevitable happened. I got nailed this morning
in traffic on I-66 here in Washington, DC. Can you say
angry? The woman in question I had been watching for
about a mile in traffic was talking on the phone and
doing her makeup it seems. I accelerated from a stop
and just had let out the clutch when I got back on the
brakes. Couldn't have gotten up to more than 10mph
before I stopped, but the girl did not. BAM!!! Right
under my bumper.

Damage: couple of scrapes, bumper was not pushed in,
but I'm worried some clips were broken.

Funny thing is that I'm going to pick up my tags and
title tonight at the dealer so I'm going to see if I
can get it up on the lift to check for further damage.
Looks like I escaped serious damage, but still not a
great feeling.

Lesson for the day: I hate people that talk on cell
phones and drive.
