Dan notes losing Mills bothers him.
Look at what the roster could be like:
Instead of wildman McCarty, Jones and Thomas, we could be sitting pretty =
with Mills, Edney and Rogers. I for one, though I think McCarty could =
be a gain, believe these three noted are much stronger than the Knick =
trio. They all bring a young experience factor. I have noted many =
times we need Edney on the roster. Mills will definitely, IMO, continue =
to contribute in many ways (definitely a better shooter), and Rogers =
(knee and all) should play a solid bench role.
The bottom line is that there is no way RP can string the IR list on =
with these players; someone will have to go. Minor is a given (how?); =
Dee would be a plus. This leaves room for Edney, Rogers and Thomas (who =
being a rookie has much greater upside). I am very afraid of the idea =
of loosing Edney due to the roster gyrations. =20
Am I wrong with my optimism for Edney, and can Rogers be the big inside =
presence we need very badly at this time (Gene?)? What about playing =
small at times, with Rogers, McCarty, AW, Mercer and Edney. I look =
forward this option for a quarter.
Yes success is at least a year in the future, but there is nothing wrong =
with hoping and expecting some solid progress (noting the obvious =
strides taken) with the available talents.
