The List

I am a native Ohioan with Massachusetts roots who has followed the
Celtics for the last 15 years of my 25 year life. I've been a frequent reader
and seldom poster on this list for about 8 months and I would like to thank you
all for filling a great void in my life--at leaast in the 80s, I could watch
them on CBS once a week, recently I've had NO Celts coverage, especially in the
offseason. This list obviously has experienced, intelligent NBA fans and have
been overall impressed with the insights. What baffles me is that many players
on this list have the constitution of 10 year olds. One day we're canonizing
Billups and THREE games later, he needs to be fazed out. The Celts are picked
to win 20 games by many and the morning after the bulls game, we're hoping to
face the bulls in the playoffs? It seems if a player manages ONE great game,
he is next in line for Larry's mantle and after one lackluster game, we demand
that he's benched. We ALL know what we have here, an extremely young team that
by virtue of its inexperience must be considered undertalented as compared to
2/3 of the other teams. This all adds of to inconsistent play both
individually and as a team and will lead to many losses this year. Let's sit
back, take our medicine for one more year and rest assured that there are more
glory years on the horizon.
By the way, my hypothesis is that Pitino held off the full court press
last night knowing we were in over our heads regardless in MSG and is playing
for a big win tonight on the 2nd half of bab-to-back games.
