Re: Zaino?
Never tried it. After working for an auto parts store for over 9 years,
I think that Meguiar's, Mother's, Eagle 1 and Zymol are the best products
out there. It depends on how well your current paints condition is in. 1997
should still be in fairly good shape. Do you live in area where they salt
constantly during the winters? I would say for a 97' Jetta, with your
color of paint, I would start off with a good polish (to take out swirl
marks, bird dropping stains, water marks, etching, webbing, etc..) polish
also"nurtures" your paint by adding oils and silicones back into the paint.
Next I would get a really good white or yellow carnuba wax. This of course
will protect the polish coat you just put on. Using an orbital buffer really
helps too. I put my polish and wax on by hand and take it off by hand also.
In between steps, I use the buffer. Smooth as butter. Very deep shine.
I don't know if you know this, but you'll know when it's time to wax again
when your water beads on your car are bigger than a dime. They should bead
off the size of a pea. Any bigger than that you might want to put on a thin
coat. The key here is to use thin coats. 2-3 is the best. It's not only
easier to take off but it lasts longer too.
