RE: LI VW Get Together

Hey all,
I remember when I used to look for local VW gatherings and could never find
anything....whether it be organized through clubs or not and it was very
frustrating to not see a lot going on. So you know what I did?....I
organized my own independent events. It's called getting off your butt and
making things happen if you're not happy with what's going on. So I did, and
in return held several successful independent events. (before I became
ClubH2O rep) Many people will vouch for those great events. (Including
PerformanceVW mag) There are events throughout the summer season that
interest various VW enthusiasts for various reasons. Whether it be cruises
that you can attend, or autocrosses, track time, shows, concourses, etc....
There have been many this season, and many more to come. This Friday sounds
like a nice event that has been promoted with the right ideas in
mind.....primarily safety. Once again, it is not to be a race, rather, a
nice cruise through some LI twisties. I hope it goes well, as I may be in
attendance too. A little FYI for people who need to be spoon-fed the
info...Sept 9th and Oct 11th are PDA track events at Lime Rock. It's a great
opportunity to get your car on the track. Look into it and get your money in
ASAP. A few people from this list and the VWDrivers list will be attending,
including myself. Also stay tuned for a joint event with the Mass H2O
chapter that will be held in Mass and include a great tour of a great
company. Stay tuned for details as they are being finalized as we speak.
