RE: Fuel Octane

The car will run fine on any of them. The timing is retarded slightly by the
ECU to avoid pinging with regular, but runs just fine, and most people are
unable to feel any power difference.

When I know I will be pushing the engine (autocross, track, hard road
trips), I use premium for the advanced timing (probably more psychological
than anything -- I need all of the help I can get). When I'm going a while
w/o pushing it, I run regular and save the money. If Medium is really 92 in
your area (it's 89 here), that may be a good compromise, as the 1 point
increase to premium probably isn't worth the $.10 - $.15/gallon.

Subject: Fuel Octaine

Just wondering if anyone knows which gas octane will work best
with a 2000 VR6 motor? Should I be using regular (87 octane), medium (92
octane) or super (93 octane) . I use Amoco gas. Thanks in advance!
