Your car will handle better with the lower profile tires as there's less
sidewall rubber to flex and more steel on the sides. However tires are
unsprung weight (meaning the suspension does nothing for it) so the bigger
the rim the more weight you have unsprung. Also your engine has to work
harder to rotate the larger mass of the wheels so while it will give
increased handling it can also detract from acceleration. ... If you get16'
rims that are lighter than your 15's then this won't apply.
