re: Interior Creaking (solution)

Same here.

It's irritating, because it is so close to me ear. Pin-pointed it on the
freeway up from SoCal. Several things rubbing (plastic on plastic). One is
the little lip at the base of the window (runs the length along the bottom)
rubbing against the door panel. The other is the lock knob rubbing on its
decorative hole-frame-thingy. Solution to the first - I am going to pull the
door panel and separate that trim piece from the door frame. Then I will lay
down along the length of the top of the panel (where the trim piece rubs) a
3/4" wide strip of self-adhesive velcro (the 'cushy' side) from Michael's ($3
for like four feet). This will allow the trim to rub on something which will
not cause noise. I will do this on all four doors. This solved the problem of
my passenger door panel rubbing on the dash (VERY persistent and irritating).
One of many sound deadening projects.
I LOATHE creaks, squeaks, and rattles. All I *Should* hear in my car are my
engine, my tires squealing, my stereo, and the voices in my head telling me
to drive like Michael Schumacher. "Honestly, officer, the voices TOLD me to
test out the speed limiter!"
