RE: EC no11
Before I say anything, I do think the Skyline is one bad ass car. BUT, it
weighs about as much as a Sherman tank. Go read last month's Evo. There's a
great article on various awd's, including the Skyline T34R, Audi S3, Audi
TT, Mitsu Lancer Evo VI, and Subaru WRX. The Skyline did not "blow away" the
Audi, in fact it finished near the bottom in terms of lap times.
BTW, while I was in Asia I picked up this incredible video cd featuring a
race with the above mentioned cars and in addition the Acura NSX, Ferrari
F355, and 550 Maranello. It was a 3 lap race on the famed Suzuka track. The
NSX came in first, followed by the Lancer Evo, then the F355. Where was the
Skyline? 2nd to the last (the Subaru finished last). If anyone wants a copy,
let me know. I don't have a a burner (yet), so don't expect a copy quickly.
That said, I think I would still choose a Skyline over the Cabrio. The
Cabrio is a chick car :)
