I really highly doubt that cabby will run circles around any Skyline. They
may be rated at 280 Hp but its only for legalities in Japan. I'm not sure
how VW built the syncro but the Nissan system is more than just 4x4. Its
built to drive like a rear drive car while having the advantage of front
wheel grip when needed.  Keep in mind this is the car that blew away
everything it raced against. Even Audi bitched that the Skyline had an
unfair advantage on the track.... ironic after their domination earlier
with the Quattro's. 

In this case its more than just saying you could buy a Z28 for the same
money. They've taken a 25 K car, probably dumped another 20  K in modifying
it.  The end result is impressive  no doubt but the money could also have
been spent on a superior factory car with even more potential. Eg Subaru
WRX. I'd be curious to see the cabby go against a stock Subaru on the
track/drag/skidpad.

Don't get me wrong, this is still a very cool car and I'm sure its tons of
fun. I'd just have but my $ elsewhere.
