Not to diminish the competitive fire of great all-time Celtics, but you
have to consider the fact that the championship money used to actually
matter to pro athletes, before they all made millions. Baseball players
used to get winter jobs. I supposed basketball players did things in the
summer to pick up money. I think Cousy thought about not pursuing a pro
career because he believed he could make as much money or more in local
business.
