This figurative "pedistal" you talk about is what some of us real fans call CELTIC PRIDE. So the team sucked. So they tanked. Is that reason to not remain faithful to the team? I think not. You suffer with your team when they lose and elate when they win. In either case you follow them because it is the team you like and you are a true fan. You sir are a fairweather fan.
