When Alonzo Mourning comes back from his injury, I can see either Jamal
Mashburn or PJ Brown being open for trade.
The reason behind this opinion is that Issac Austin IMHO should and will
be played as a twin towers with Alonzo at power forward. This would
either push PJ to 3 or out of the lineup and he is being paid too much
to be played off the bench. So that shows that either he or Mashburn
will be traded.
Would the Boston Celtics be interested in obtaining PJ Brown? He can
board well, he is a semi-presence but would suit Pitino's system as he
is quite athletic.
On the negative side of obtaining PJ would be his contract. I am fairly
certain that he has 6 years left of a 7 year guaranteed contract, and I
am not totally sure that there is an opt-out clause in it.
I'd say no, but I am interested in hearing what you guys have to say on
the idea.
As for that idea for the Brevin Knight trade, I'll stick with Chauncey.
I love Chauncey and truly believe it is only a matter of time until he
settles down and starts beating quality point guards around the league.
Bobby Sura isn't that good a player and he has that big contract now
too. We could find his quality of a player somewhere else and anyhow he
wouldn't get much time behind Ron Mercer and Dee Brown.
I have been really suprised with Dee this season, although I was one of
the ones who was in the group pre-season that said that we would see a
new Dee. So far he has surpassed my expectations, also Pervis too.
The C's look like they're in good shape, .500 is definitely a step in
the right direction, but dont expect us to stay at .500 for the rest of
the season. If we do, then Rick and the guys have performed a miracle
imho.
