Heat release Day, activate Majerle

MIAMI (AP) -- The Miami Heat waived swingman Todd
                                  Day and activated Dan Majerle from the
injured list
                                  before Saturday's game against the
Toronto Raptors

                                  Day, an off-season free-agent pickup
from the Boston
                                  Celtics, played in five of Miami's 11
games and averaged
                                  six points in 13.8 minutes on 35
percent shooting.

                   Day, a five-year veteran, averaged a career-high 16
                   points with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1994-95
                   season.

                   Majerle, who was on the injured list because of back
                   pain, averaged 3.4 points in Miami's first five
games.
