First Timer....
Hello, Everyone....
This is my first post to the Celtics list, just joined up about three days ago
and am truely interested in all the talk that has been going on. I'm a huge
Celtics fan and have been ever since I began watching the NBA. I live in West
Michigan, so this list is just about the extent of my Celctics coverage (beside
the usual stuff you find on the net).
First, I would like to get my two cents in on Mr. Billups. RP has had plenty of
time to see his playing style and his drive to win. Maybe RP doesn't see what
he thinks he should see. Maybe Chauncey came into his current position
thinking, "Hey I'm the number three pick, and I'm on a young team, I can take
it kind of easy.". If that is the case then he deserves to be involved in the
rumors.
Secondly, WE ARE NOT GOING TO TRADE BILLUPS. He is going to be around. If
everyone in the NBA thinks that he is not a good player then what will we get
for him. RP is going to give him a fair shot to prove himself, if for no other
reason than to pump up his trade value. So, please relax the rumors.
Also, RPs system takes time, and it certainly will when trying to adapt it to
the NBA. The RP system relies on having the perfect players, ones that don't
get tired. You certainly do not have that in the first two weeks of the NBA
season. They need time to get into great shape. In about two more weeks,
the players will be used to the trapping D and the up and down style of play,
and will be able to play a strong 20 to 25 minutes without getting overly
tired.
Finally, Will someone find a place for Dee Brown to go. Maybe we can trade
him to Dallas. They seem to take anyone. We could trade Dee, Minor, and a big
man (not Knight) for Micheal Finley(a scorer with an outside shot), or maybe we
could go after Vashawn Leonard (spelling) in Miami. We just need a three point
threat beside Barros. Just something to open up the middle.
Well, just some thoughts.
