RE: Point Guards and Trades

Edney & Bogues would give us two extremely small, but true quick points. =
But both are excellent playmakers. A big defensive 2 (Bowen & Mercer =
?) and an intimidator in the middle (Roy Rogers ?) could alleviate some =
of the liability. Add a front court of Smith, Walker, McCarty & Knight =
would be very interesting. The only problem is Smith, McCarty & Knight =
are all undersized for their positions and this could lead to some =
problems, but their athleticism and mobility could also create some.=20

Ok, there's lots of talk about the "next trade" and
the need for a veteran point guard. And the fact
that Joe Smith is one of the players whose name keeps=20
cropping up. What do y'all think about getting Joe Smith=20
and Muggsy Bogues for Billups and whoever (you guys can=20
fill in the blanks of who to package up with Billups)? =20
No comments about a munchkin backcourt - hear me out. :)
After last night's showing in Golden State, Muggsy=20
showed us that the press has been blowing this=20
"bad knee" thing all out of proportion. He looked
great, and the Warriors couldn't keep up with him.
He truly fired up a dead, dead warriors team. Also=20
last night we saw how much better the Celtics look
with a legitimate point running the show. Just think
if we had *two* legitimate points on the team.

So whaddya think - Muggsy comes on board to give
veteran leadership (and a HUGE heart) to the team,=20
teaches Tyus some tricks of the trade (although
he's got plenty of tricks in his bag already),
and the team learns about TEAM play.
