ESPN Reports:

Billups offered to Denver, Philly

According to reports in Denver and Philadelphia, the Celtics have =
contacted the Sixers and Nuggets about a possible trade for Chauncey =
Billups.=20
In Boston, Rick Pitino has acknowledged that the team is getting a lot =
of calls about a certain player, whom he has not identified. It is =
believed Billups is the player, as word has filtered around the NBA that =
Pitino is somewhat disenchanted with the rookie. Billups, who shot just =
29 percent in the preseason, has not adapted well to Pitino's system and =
doesn't get involved in the offense quickly.


I also read today in the L.A. Times he was offered to Denver for Bobby =
Jackson, and Denver confirmed they had turned it down.  It looks like he =
could be gone before the deadline.  As stated earlier I like moving him =
to Sacramento for Richmond or  in a 3 or 4 way with possibly Sacramento, =
Philly & L.A & ending up with Eddie Jones, which could happen due to the =
Lakers interest and offers for Richmond.
Philly & Sacramento could both use a point.


Does anyone think Bowen play the point ?  If so a line up of Bowen, =
Mercer, Stackhouse or Eddie Jones, Walker & Knight would be pretty =
impressive.  Even using Edney would be nice with this lineup.  But can =
they play D ?


It would be beneficial to pick up a veteran backup point like Terry =
Porter, Michael Williams, B.J. Armstrong(probably too late now), Hurley =
? Where is Kenny Smith did he hit the wall or what ?  He was decent with =
Houston a few years ago, but moved around a lot last year.
