RE: re-observations

You can't make conclusions on the Mills deal yet. We traded Mills for three
potentially very good players. Two years from now if McCarty is averaging 14
points, 8 reb, and 5 assists while Jones is getting 10 pts and Thomas is
pulling down 8 or 9 rebounds per game we will have gotten the upper hand. If
one the other hand, in two years all three of these players are still playing
at their current level the Knicks will have certainly gotten the better of the
trade. Once again, when such young players are involved, it is simply too
early to make a verdict on the Mills trade.

Pitino has inherited problems from the past. Such as Minor, Dee, and
Barros, contractually speaking, he's stuck for now. In this early season
don't rule out other changes and trades or injured reserve moves. How can
McCarty look so good in the Bulls game and come up empty in the rest? The
Knicks got the better of the deal, but we needed so many bodies, the deal
looked good for us also. If we don't compete competitively against the
lower class teams, look out for fireworks and mutiny from the Fleet Center
fans. It won't be pretty.
