Trade talks

What do you people make of the contradictory versions of the Billups et
al. for Cage/Edwards/1st round pick trade talks issuing from Calipari's
and Pitino's mouths? I know they both can lie like rugs, but Calipari's
version of the talks seems quite incredible. Even a salary cap-space
liberator like Pitino wouldn't trade Billlups for what is essentially
free cap space (formerly occupied by Minor/De Clerq/Cage/Edwards) next
year, would he? Sure, there would've been a #1 pick as well, but who
knows how high in the round, even with New Jersey? 

On another note, if Pitino can motivate the guys to a victory tonight,
he's quite something. I think a McCarty/Bowen tandem on Penny would work
quite nicely, relatively speaking.

P.S. It would be nice if people on the list refrained from [virtually]
screaming (we all know how right you are or were this or that time, no
need for those multiple exclamation points), and from quoting multi-kb
posts only to add a two-word sentence at the end. Sorry for the didactic
tone, these are just wishes.
