Heh heh. In 1980, I don't think their audience was full of screaming
chickies. I think that only came later after their popular success
with "War" catapulted them into "pop music" territory and suddenly all
the chicks noticed Bono and the other members. Taken as a group
they're not bad looking. Except for Roger, the Who doesn't have that
glossy surface chick appeal factor. (Remember the bit about the early
auditions where the band was encouraged to "lose the ugly guy with the
big nose"?)

The only time I've seen a high chick factor at a Who concert was in
Vegas '99. I can't say if they were all rented company for the
evening but I remember the distinct difference between that show and
the MSG '96 Quad shows which were wall-to-wall testicles. Granted I
don't have hundreds of Who concerts under my belt (first was '82, a
putrid disgusting mix of drunken sods who relentlessly crushed up
against the stage and repulsed me so much I can't even remember what
the Who's performance was like), but all the shows I've been to were
mostly male, with the exceptions being wonderful people like Corkface,
Who Babe!, Lauren, Stephanie, etc.

Maybe the Who doesn't attract many chicks, but the ones they do attract
are definately chicks worth knowing in my book :-).
