I agree, Pete's guitar has always been somewhat smothered in the mix.
The reissues helped, but ...

Also, just wanted to add my support to those who really dig "It's Hard."

And, finally, someone said they heard the Who in the preview for the
movie "Rushmore." I saw the preview, and could it have been the
Creation you heard? They came out in '66, were produced by Shel
Talmy, were into Pop Art (they made Jackson Pollock-type paintings
WHILE they played) and Pete suppposedly asked their guitar player to
join the Who. Anyhow, they've always been compared to the Who and
while I thought those comparisons were unfair and innacurate, I'd have
to rethink my opinion if people on the list were fooled. -E
