If you have an AutoZone parts store in the area, they sell the newer VR6
filter (fits over the big-ass spring) for 11.99 or something like that. 
The box is the AutoZone Deutsch name, but look inside and it's a Hengst,
which is what Potterman sells.  The only bad thing is that AutoZone
doesn't include the drain plug copper gasket.  If AutoZone isn't in your
area, it might be worth checking other parts stores.  Chances are there
is a Hengst inside a 'house brand' box.

They have a part number for the older style clip-on filter, but they
don't seem to stock it.  Not around here anyway.
