aftermarket custom sound systems

hello-
i just got my new GLX and am going to start things off with a new sound 
system.  i am building my jetta for show so i am going with top of the line 
equipment.  I am just wondering how much you guys spent on your systems.  i 
went and priced some today and i am getting into the 6000-8000 range but 
they are really nice set ups. Is this a little high or should i be spending 
this much uf i am expecting to win shows.  thanks for your help.
