Your engine must keep a proper fuel / air ratio ... if you stick a higher flow
filter in, you'll be increasing the volume of air that gets sucked into your
engine. To keep the ratio the same, the FI WILL compensate by throwing in more
fuel. Same thing holds true for an exhaust. This has nothing to do with
VW's, or Honda's, or Hummers for that matter, its just Running Engine 101.

P.S. Wanna try something REAL interesting ... try rejetting a carbeurated
engine some time. I have to do my carbs twice a year, not counting times when
I modify the air track .... oh what fun!
