re: More on Baker, from Seattle, and it's not good

But if he's right (and I have come around to the conclusion that he is), does
it really matter that he's a hack and a career Baker-basher? He's still right.

Anyway, I think the "coyotes" ' (perhaps not consciously realized) motive in
bashing Baker and rejoicing in the fact that the Boston media has now joined
the feast on the "gentle deer" (or is it moose? :>), is that such an outcry
will get the owners' attention and help remove Wallace, who is a much bigger
problem than Baker. Baker simply serves as cement shoes for Wallace. If Baker
and the 2001 draft are not enough to sink Wallace, perhaps the Celtics' not
making the playoffs would do the trick. Did you notice how every time he's
asked about Baker, his response is "we are where we were at this point last
year" (translation: the trade didn't screw up the team that badly, at least
playing-wise). At this point I believe it would be worth missing the playoffs
if that's the cost of getting rid of Wallace (not to mention a shot at Lebron
and Milicic). Because otherwise at this time next year we'll be moaning about
how Wallace botched yet another draft, or made yet another mind-bogglingly
stupid trade.
