Re: Ce's Finally Make It: Boxton 100- New Jersey 95

Bill, another great game report. Just want to emphasize a couple of things.

Finally some production from the bench. That's all this team needs. I'll
say this again, and I swear this is the last time I'm going to say it, but
Antoine Walker is no longer a problem for this team. I hope to God Pitino
means it when he says Walker is not going to be traded. The vast majority
of Antoine's minutes of late have been seriously productive.

>Battie: Tony was the spearhead of the comeback. He played 19 minutes,
>and had 14 points, and 5 boards (4 of them offensive). As usual, when
>Tony goes to the boards, he plays well, and tonight he was in attack

Why not at least every other night, damn it! This team would be over .500
and could actually win on the road if this guy showed up to help take some
of the pressure off the starting frontcourt. He is a giant disappointment.
If the team can't count on him to give them productive minutes off the
bench, at least half the time, this guy needs to go. Let's see him do it
against the Blazers. If the Celtics want to stay in that game, against
their frontcourt, Tony has to help out. This will be a good test for young
Tony. Let's see if he's up to it. Considering he's stunk it up for weeks
now, I don't think that's asking too much.

>Fortson: probably won the game for the Celts by going for 6 minutes
>(all in the first half) without collecting a single foul. Of course
>he only collected 1 boards and 2 points, but at least he didn't get a
>foul, That's the important thing.

What the hell has happened to this guy? For the love of God, trade him now
before Portland comes into town and ruins his trade value. Does he have any
left? A team like Portland is the reason Pitino made the trade for Fortson,
it's as simple as that. Here's Danny's chance to prove that trade wasn't a
giant mistake. I don't expect the Celtics to win, but if Battie and Fortson
actually look like they belong in the same league with Brian Grant and
Rasheed Wallace, I'll be happy. I assume ther are going to be times when
Fortson and Battie are going to be out there on those guys. Let's see if
they don't get humiliated.

>Opposition Great White El Busto's of Note: (well, sorry about that, it
>just slipped out).

Nothing to be sorry about Bill, the guy sucks. I love seeing Keith Van Horn
play like crap. As for savior #2, Tim Duncan, I would never say that he's
not one of the best forwards in basketball. I would never say that he
wouldn't look great playing for the Celtics. But the more I see him play,
the more I wonder about that "Best player in the NBA" title. Let me put it
this way, the older I get, the more I like Alonzo Mourning. I look at the
talent on the Heat and I'm just amazed at their record. Are they any better
with Dancan at center instead of Mourning? Does Duncan make that much of
difference on a team without a healthy All-World 7-footer playing next to
him? Would he make that much of a difference on the T-Wolves without Kevin
Garnett? Would he give them more than Garnett does? The Blazers have made
him look like he belongs in the CBA twice now. I look forward to seeing
young Tim play an entire season post-Robinson.
