Here are a couple of Celts quotes from the latest ESPN Sprots Zone chat
with Andre Aldridge. I know some of you dont like Aldridge, but I thought
these were interesting.
Q: Whats your opinion on the job Pitino's doing?
A: Most of you would agree that Antoine Walker is the best player in
Boston. However, the most important player for the Green team is Travis
Knight. Theyre able to play their frantic defense because he anchors the
back. And they run their offense thorugh him. Watch Knight, and no one
else, for 10 minutes and you'll learn.
Q: Who (among rookies) do you think has the most potential in the years
to come? Me, I think my boy Chauncey "The Big Dogg" Billups.
A: Its hard enough to make the transitoin from college to the pros, it's
exponentially harder when youre doing it as a point guard, and a point
guard for Rick Pitino. I like Chauncey's attitude, and he has elevated
his game so far, despite having to worry about getting traded. I dont
think his future is in Boston. But, this Dogg has got some bite to it!
Anybody have any comments?
Billups certainly seems to be in the "Dogg" house, after playing just 5
minutes in each of the last 2 games. Considering Cleveland wasnt even
playing with its starting PG, that cant be a good sign.
What the hell was Walker doing throwing up 29 shots?? 31% from the floor
and 25% from three point range is not the way to win a game. Pervis
played well again, with 5 points, 6 boards, 2 blocks and 2 steals in 25
minutes. Edney had a good game with 14 points, 7 assists, 4 steals and
just 2 t.o.'s in 30 minutes. So much for Barros' shooting streak and
Minor's playing time, now that Bowen's back. Nice to see DeClercq get
some minutes. And just what is Brown doing out there? Everyone says he's
playing well but his stats sure dont show it.
Finally, here's Pitino after the loss to Cleveland: "The day will come
when we get better players, and I think the press will be a lot like it
was at Kentucky." Oof.
Anybody know how badly Knight is injured or when he'll be back?
