Walker's game is affected by the fact that the C's doesn't have another
inside scorer. Other teams know this. Most of the time, Walker can't
even get the ball down low.
To improve this team, Pitino will have to either make trades, sign free
agents or both. Let's face it. The C's will never get to the Finals with
what they have right now. Look at the starting lineup: Billups G, Mercer
G, Knight C, McCarthy F, Walker F
Out of those lineup, I can only trust 2 players to score, Walker &
Mercer. Knight does his thing; he block shots, etc. McCarthy is better
suited coming off the bench. Billups is lost. The C's need a scoring
small forward and a point guard that can, not only push it up the floor,
but also score. (If only they can combine Edney & Barros into one
player) Why not trade Billups, Thomas, & Jones to Toronto for Damon and
Walt Williams? Toronto might do it, as most of their players want to
leave anyway.
P.S. In tonight's game, let's see if Billups learn his lesson of not
turning his back on the basket while up in the air. If he doesn't,
that's it for me. I will no longer care for Billups. The LA game wasn't
the first time he did that move.
