Pitino is a clever chap and, generally, is very careful about his utterances - we
saw that last night.

Forever is (I think) a very long time. My point (which, admittedly, was obscurred
by my ranting) was that the change of generations occurred relatively quickly and
painlessly on the Lakers because of superior management (read: Jerry West),
whereas the Celtics are going to be paying (figuratively and literally) for the
mistakes of last 10 years or so for a long time. At least Pitino now gives us
hope, boo-boos with Billups, Massenburg, Mills and E. Williams notwithstanding.

And I was rueing the fact that the Celts are not, anymore - because of the
collection of clowns we've had in the management in the last decade.

It's amazing how any non-Tommy Heinsohn-like statement evokes accusations of
disloyalty to the Green, being a fairweather fan etc. etc. on this list.
Sometimes it feels more like a Celtics Ltd. Partnership PR Department
Infomercial, not a discussion list.
