Re: All time Celtic PS team

Part of the reason Cowens was so successful was because he was quicker
than most of the Centers who guarded him. His outside shot effectively
drew his man out on the perimeter, which allowed Silas to clean the
offensive glass. I think that quickness advantage would be
neutralized substantially by someone his own size, though he was
extremely quick and mobile for a center.

As for JoJo, one of the all-time greats, here are his numbers:

12 YR 6169 FGM 2060 FTM	3345 REB	14399 PTS
837 GP 13884 FGA 2471 FTA	4095 APG	17.2 PPG
29941 MIN .444 FG% .834 FT%	2056 PF

As is the case for many other unheralded stars, JoJo has never truly
gotten his just due. Statistics don't tell the fact that for 5
consecutive seasons he didn't miss a game and led his team in minutes for
3 straight years. Or that he was an all-star for 7 straight seasons. He
was a star performer on 2 championship teams, '74 and '76. In '76, he
was Playoff MVP and played all 60 minutes of the fabulous triple OT win
over the Suns. For his first 4 years in the NBA, stats weren't kept on
steals, but when the league started to keep track, JoJo led the C's the
first 4 years on a team that boasted Don Chaney as his defensive partner.

As you can tell, I was an enormous Celtic fan back in the days of JoJo,
Cowens, Havlicek and Silas, and having met both he and Ainge, it's JoJo
in a breeze.
