Wow, how long has it been?

Others will give much better games summaries than I could, but I waned to
mention a couple of things:

Walter McCarty and John Wallace certainly made the Knicks look stupid. 
Both guys had great games and showed a wide variety of skills.  Cousy made
some rather pointed remarks about the Knicks, questioning why they would go
with veterans who have proved they can't get the job done rather than groom
their young studs.  They said the Knicks will be a solid ballclub but
neither thought the Knicks had a shot at the championship.  I'm inclined to
agree.  They (the Knicks) have to pay lip service to winning a championship
but they seem more concerned about maintaining the status quo and keeping
the fans happy so they'll still shell out a grand for a courtside seat.

I caught some of the Houston/New York game tonight and I noticed the
amazing contrast between Boston and most other NBA clubs.  The Celtics are
so much more exciting.  I don't expect them to have a better record than
either Houston or New York but they are more entertaining and I think they
have a much brighter future.

Boy, do I like Ron Mercer.  Not just his skills but his demeanor.  It's
going to be lots of fun watching him for the next ten years.
