Sunday's pratice
Just some notes from Sundays Celtic's practice. The Celtics had an open
practice for the Brandies Community. It was my first time at one of these
events.
The pratice was pretty routine. Pitino went over half court defense
and some plays for last minutes shots. Walker put on a great shooting
exhibition. The one playr who impressed me the most was Donta Jones.
He was great on the offensive end but he is still learning the defense,
without the benefit of training camp.
The biggest item I got from the pratice is Pitino expects the same
intensity in games and in practices. He stressed that intense and
competitive practices will translate over into games. Pitino was all over
Edney and Billups over their sloppy play. Edney was a walking revolving
door on defense.
There were 4 players who didn't pratice:Rogers, Barros, Mercer and Bowen.
You could barely see Mercer's left eye and Bowen looked like he was in alot
of pain from his broken nose. The most vocal player in practice was
Dee Brown. I dont' know if Pitino asked him or he took it upon himself but
he acted like the leader of this team.
Hope this wasn't too long
