Greetings,
Thanks for the feedback (Jan and Larry) on my 24-second clock comments. I
didn't realize the Jumbotron was being used occassionally for the shot
clock at the new Garden. I generally try to avoid getting sucked in by
that darn thing when I'm at a game, anyways. Do most NBA teams use the
overhead scoreboard to display 24-second information?
Also, I don't know if using the Jumbotron is the best solution, especially
if it's only going to be used sporadically. It seems like shot clock data
is important enough to be displayed on every play. I still vote for having
the current clock revamped to show 24-second status on all four sides of
the clock. Anyone in the place would be able to glance at the shot clock
without taking their eyes off the action for more than a split-second. As
I said the other day, the way the clocks are set up now, they seem to be
pretty much unreadable from up in the mid-court balcony area, and probably
from other sections of the stadium.
