Confidence needed

Last night I attended my first game in the Pitino era.  After observing
Billups in person, I feel the only thing he needs is a major dose of
confidence.  He clearly has better point guard skills than Bobby Jackson
(who, with one basket, three palming violations, and plenty of trouble
against the press, reminded me of Dee Brown trying to play PG).

Billups probably knew his friends back home in Denver were watching, and
yet he didn't display the fire you'd expect to see in that situation. 
However, when the game came down to "crunch time," he finally took the
ball to the basket and scored, then hit all his free throws when Denver
started fouling to stop the clock.

In his book, Pitino talked at length about how he built Mark Jackson's
confidence to ROY level.  If he would do the same for Billups, we might
see the player everyone was excited about last spring.
