Am I reading these posts right? Do people actually believe the Celts are
going to phase out Billups, the #3 overall pick in the draft, because he
has not been stellar (or maybe even decent) in a career of 3 professional
games? This is crazy. Maybe it is true that the fluke win over the Bulls
did more harm than good, at least for the fans. Anyone who believed that
the Celtics were on a level with the Bulls was crazy. They will win some
games, everyone does. But they are going to lose a lot, and when they play
good teams, like the Knicks and the Magic, they are likely to get
destroyed. We only won 15 games last year, then we got rid of most of that
team, and didn't get anyone proven yet. The goal was not to win a
championship this year, but to contend within 5 years. Don't lose sight of
that. You'll be more content with the boxscores, too, if you accept the
fact that this team will have had a remarkably successful season if they
win 20 games (33% improvement from last year).
