Premature Thoughts

Mercer: The real deal at the 2. He's not a very good shooter yet, but
definitely a starter.

Though it is a little too early for criticism, I have a few for what
I've seen.

Walker: Definitely a starter. I understand he developed a decent outside
shot, but please stay near the basket! He is probably the only green
with an inside game.

McCarthy (did I spelled it right?): I know he can dribble for a 6'11"
guy, but don't over do it. Driving to the basket from within the foul
line is okay, but dribbling from the other end of the court and from the
three point line isn't something that he should develop as a habit. Is
he a starter at SF? For what the C's have right now, yes. Other than
that, he's okay.

Pervis: Invisible. If you're not an offensive player, then you must be a
darn good defensive player. The previous statement does not hold for
Pervis.

Dontae Jones: A SF and shot-blocking version of Todd Day. (shoots the
ball without thinking, the long socks)

I am not the first to say it, but they need a real point guard. Billups
may or may not be the player Pitino had thought, but right now he is not
getting the job done at PG. (If he develops into a PG in the future,
then he can start. Right now, its just not happening) When he dribbles,
I am not confident he can pass his defender without fumbling or getting
the ball stripped.
