Re[2]: SHOOTING
What does Walker have to do to convince you he's a go-to
guy?
This guy, without question, is capable. He can do it in the
low post, he can do it from the perimeter, he can create his
own shot. He can find the open man if he is cut off.
He is going to turn the ball over for a while, but give him
another year of experience and you won't see those kinds of
turnovers anymore. Besides, he is going to have the ball so
much and be asked to do so much, you have to expect the
turnovers.
I think some of us are being too critical. Even Bill Cooper,
with his summary of the win over the Bulls, was somewhat
critical of Walker, and he was incredible in that game --
with the exception of a few unforced turnovers. And in
yesterday's loss he scored 19 points with 11 rebounds. And
this was an off game.
Guys, Walker is it. We have to build around him, but he is,
without question, a budding superstar. Would you trade him
straight-up for anyone in the NBA? The only answers I'll
even consider are Garnett and Penny Hardaway and I'll debate
you on those two.
Don't worry about a go-to guy. We have him. Now we just have
to worry about filling in around him.
